Dream Me

(Mixed media. Acrylic ink, water colours and gouache. 31 x 41 cm)
500 kr

i walked into your dream
and now i've forgotten
how to dream my own dream

(Tori Amos, "Mother", Little Earthquakes, 1992. Full lyrics.)

For Illustration Friday - "The Blues".

I started on this last weekend, but did not know quite how to finish it. Tonite, though, I only needed to add a few details, inspired by the IF theme, and voila! there she was!

The colours are slightly darker in reality and the few dark red details seem to have disappeared altogether - why is it so difficult to take a good photograph of a painting?! But I do hope the feelings behind this painting is conveyed anyway.

I love that Tori Amos album. Your piece indeed invokes the blues, as well as a dream-like quality.

Otroligt hur talande en "enfärgad" målning kan vara. Så vacker med ett djup som sveper bort med mig...

Wonderful texture, and a very unique take on the blues...really refreshing!

Perriette: I love that album too, and she's been a muse (as well as a Sister) to me ever since.

Gisan: Tack! Jag gillar att arbeta med en begränsad palett, det utmanar mig på ett nyttigt sätt :)

Alex: Thank you! That makes me happy to hear.

This is such a wonderfully moody piece, perfect with the Tori Amos words.

Carla: Thank you! Tori is forever an inspiration to me. This song has meant a lot to me.

Angela: Thank you! And to think I was almost ready to give it up - but the IF theme was the last piece of the puzzle, so to speak.
